When I started following Happy Fabric UK on Instagram this month I instantly knew I had to order some of their Vinyls to play with.
What I was not expecting when they arrived was how easy and addictive they would become.
My first project was going to be a guest towel (which I have now done and will be sharing later this week) but when Addison saw the Pink Glitter Vinyl she asked if I could make something for her.
So I went to her wardrobe and pulled out a plain T Shirt she had from H&M and I decided to make it one of a kind.
What you will need
- A Plain Tee
- Happy Fabric Vinyl
- Scissors or Craft Punch
- Iron
- Scrap Paper
- Greaspfroof Paper
First decide on what colour Vinyl and what you want to cut out of it, I had just bought a new 3” heart punch from Hobbycraft and Addison loves hearts so I decided to make it even easier and go with that.
I started by punching some hearts out of scrap paper so I could decide on placement, at first I thought I would do three hearts but it felt too many so we went for one in a pocket placement.
The Glitter Vinyl is a little thicker than the plain vinyls so the punch did struggle, so I finished off cutting the heart freehand but I think that just adds to the design.
On Happy Fabric’s website there is a download that teaches you how long to press for and when to pull of the carrier (protective film) so make sure you follow these guidelines.
Once the heart was in place and the Tee had its pre iron I covered with grease proof paper and then held the iron on for 15 seconds.
Peel off the carrier, repress and then voila, a gorgeous One of a Kind Sparkly tee for Addison and all for less than £5!!!!
It really is that simple and the design possibilities are endless.
