Date nights out are really very difficult when you have 3 kids, especially one with high care needs, but Ashley and I have made a conscious effort to try to have a special night once a month even if at home.
With it being nicer in the evenings and my love of picnics we decided on spontaneous date night out in the garden and Higgidy are celebrating picnic season so sent us some amazing Quiche to make our date night even more tasty.
Ashley decided he wanted to help make the evening more romantic whilst I prepared, so he used my recent love of pallets and built us a little table, finishing it off with a pretty blanket, some flowers from the garden, candles (as you always have to have candles) and of course a bottle of wine.

We sat for over an hour enjoying Higgidy’s Quiche, Ashley loved the Ham Hock and Petit Pois where as I found the Peperonata and Feta delicious, it was such an amazing combo, so glad I have another in the freezer for next picnic day.

It was the perfect evening, so peaceful and with no distractions we just chatted away. The great thing is it took little time to prepare either giving more time for eating and enjoying.
The great thing about a Picnic is it makes everything feel more special, I would literally have a picnic every day of the week come rain or shine, but I really do think a date night picnic is perfect for anyone, next time I want to pack up our Higgidy Quiche and head to the beach for a night-time picnic, that would be beautiful.

Do you love a picnic too ? If so check out Higgidy’s quiche they are perfect for the occasion and right now they have teamed up with Joules on special pack promo’s to give you the chance to win Joules Picnic goodies – YES PLEASE!
