It’s that time of the month again where our gorgeous guest blogger Emily shares some Interiors Inspo. Don’t forget to check out her post from last month which focussed on her Dining Room Dresser.
I’m at it again. Painting.
This time for our youngest son, Dexter’s room. I had just bought a large set of drawers from a friend which would offer him more storage than the previous drawers he had but I wanted to update them.

Everything I had painted so far had a lot of pale grey with maybe a hint of colour and I was keen to do something different. I wanted to keep a lot of the wood as it was but I wasn’t sure how exactly. Which is where Pinterest is completely brilliant. SO many ideas and inspirational work, I love it.

Here are some of the ideas I pinned (check out my Pinterest board for links). I adore the chevrons but I am just not sure I would get the lines as neat as the photos above.
I had decided to use colours I had in the cupboard. I had been lucky enough to win a couple of tester pots from Paint by Conran and put them to good use with this piece.
It really doesn’t take too long (if the children let you get on!) I painted the drawers and the drawer handles and then sanded down the wood that was staying. There were a few marks I wanted to get rid of and sanding did that. I applied some Danish oil to the wood to give it some protection and a nicer finish.

I love it! Its my favourite piece so far!! It is perfect in his room. The blue is just stunning.

Next onto my other son Theo’s Drawers, Pinterest here I come, well unless you lovely lot have any suggestions???
